High Trashion

I get a lot of inspiration from editorial fashion. For my final for Digital Photo I wanted to include this, along with a meaningful message. Around 300 grocery bags from multiple people were tied together to create this "dress." To get all of these bags I went into the closet of multiple friends to get their trash bag stash that everyone seems to have. Plastic use and disposal is a big issue in the world nowadays. Beauty does not have to involve wastefulness, buying sustainable clothes is a way to start to fix this issue. Another way to prevent the overuse of plastic is to use reusable bags so this plastic grocery bag buildup in everyone's pantry doesn't have to happen. This gallery highlights these problems and with the application on the reusable bag (below the gallery), exemplifies alternate resources to decrease plastic use.
